Guy
Hetherington

What is proper to painting cannot be expressed in words. What can be spoken or written, in the end, has no place in painting.

Astronomy and numerology are instruments and what takes place in my paintings looks behind them.

But I have not chosen these intellectual disciplines at random; the study of stars and numbers represents perhaps the oldest and most persistent attempt of humankind to make sense of our universe.

My paintings try to unravel some parts of these disciplines to reveal the perception that only the poetic can possibly underlie the cosmos and secure our place in it.
